This handy plane is cast in manganese bronze, long and fitted with a wide A2 cryogenically treated blade. Being so small you cannot get your hand fully around the handle. Size wise it is not dissimilar to a block plane. This may give a clue to its original intended use, as a small plane for trimming type jobs and final touches.
