NEW from Veritas The iron plane mimics the bronze version in form and performance, with a few functional improvements. The depth-adjustment mechanism on this model is a large thumb wheel and an independent traveller, resulting in fast and accurate depth setting with no blade skewing. Set screws along the side prevent the blade from shifting when it hits a knot. All other aspects are the same as the bronze plane - a full 1" cut can be made, and the plane is drilled and tapped to allow a wooden wedge to be fixed to the fence for cutting controlled bevels. The fence is 6-1/8" long and the plane is 6-1/8" long overall. The 12° bed angle and 30° blade skew are suitable to work end grain as well as edges of boards. Weighs 1 lb 6 oz. Comes with a A2 & O1 Blade (Iron)
